Professional Development & Entrepreneurial Workshop

PROJECT: Spirit of Discovery Park's (SoDP) Greenhouse Professional Development Workshop and Community Seminar in partnership with Lindenwood University.
MISSION: To provide an opportunity for community and current educators an in-depth look at the opportunities and enhancements a Tower Garden will have upon their campus and current instructional practices. Attendees will participate in a day-long professional development session with Tower Garden experts, Tim Blank, Jamie Vann and Traci Jansen. This opportunity will share strategies of success for acquisition, implementation, education and sustainable use of a Tower Garden within the classroom, school and local community. The team of professional development instructors will cover the following topics:
·What does successful implementation and care for a Tower Garden entail?
·What are the components of a Tower Garden?
·How can your campus acquire a Tower Garden through grant opportunities?
·How can a Tower Garden be a sustainable tool for both learning and engagement by your students and staff?
·How will Tower Garden implementation integrate with (K-12) learning standards for your students?
·How will the needs of diverse learners be met through use of this learning tool?
·How can your community become involved with the benefits of this tool on your campus?
WORKSHOP: SoDP will be offering this one-day workshop the first week of March 2022. Through this experience, current educators will be provided two hours of professional development training and have the option for further Graduate study Continuing Education credit through Lindenwood University.
